Post Apocalyptic

The only person you could find that what know what to do, is the naval officer. With the help of him, you manage to find a dagger for you, and a katana sword for him.
Approaching the house, you begin rethinking entering. What if it actually is a herd of zombies, and you have to kill more? Memories of previous kills haunt you, and your heart begins to race. But, with the help of the naval officer, you are able to rethink about going into the house.

You slowly open the door, and and are greeted with an empty room except for a stick with fire in the centre. The possibility of zombies being able to create as much thought into creating a light source is very little, so you keep walking through what seems to be the living room. Behind you, stands the naval officer in thought.

"This could easily be a trap. Who would leave fire alone in a house?" He whispers.

The thought confuses you also. "It's possible that that's the security measurement, and that they have it to scare off wandering zombies."

"But wouldn't that bring zombies closer?"

"Fire? No. Zombies are afraid of fire. It might draw them to this room, but once they find it empty it will scare them off."

He nods, not agreeing, but acknowledging what you said.
