One Way Out
You hid in a little alcove. You watched Jonny, making sure that he didn't see you. From a nearby classroom, Cynthia exited and Jonny immediately saw her. He pointed his gun at her. Cynthia was frozen in place, her eyes shone with fear. The two were only a couple of feet apart, there was no escaping her death. You saw from the corner of your eye Emma's axe and her figure leaning on it.
Cynthia, like a cornered animal, lashed out and grabbed the gun from Jonathan. She pointed it at him, changed her mind and pointed it at her temple. She shook her head and pulled the trigger, the gunshot echoing throughout the room. Jonathan, disgusted, took the gun from her dead hands and shot her two more times for good measure. He stalked off, looking furious. You quietly entered the nearest classroom and hid behind the door until Jonny's walked off.
The intercom started talking, "Will everyone who's still alive come to the cafeteria?" The voice sounded a lot like John's.
