One Way Out
You look back at Anna. There was nothing. You walk towards her. "Anna, do you hear that?" you told her about the sound. Then, the footsteps got faster. Brandon came from behind the corner and saw both you and Anna. He hurtled towards you and before you could sidestep, his fist made contact with your face. Your entire vision turns black and pain was all you felt.
The black clouds clear and you saw Brandon's foot crushing Anna's throat. You tried to crawl away. As you inch away, Anna stops breathing. Brandon sets his sights on you. He grabs you by your shirt and throws you against the lockers. You lose your breathe and tried to stand up, but end up stumbling. Brandon punches you again and again.
You couldn't feel anything but pain. It was so intense that you didn't realize that he had stopped punching you, instead his fingers are around your neck. He squeezes hard and you try hard to stop, but the pain has made you weak and instead all you can do is gently tug at his fingers. The world goes black again. You feel a different kind of pain.
