Hide and wait
The squad take up position among the forest of cyro-chambers.
The ship bucks as it moves through the atmosphere. Then a final lurch and the motion stops. They have landed.
There is a sound of the cargo ramp being lowered. Then heavy footsteps. The cargo bay doors spring open and large Crushers walk in.
They are missing their sheilds. Instead they lift a cyro-chamber each and begin carrying them out.
"Open fire!", LeadBeast shouts. The Shadowguns shred the unprepared Crushers. Half a dozen Grunts run into the room and fire plasma blast at the group. Dodging in and out of the chambers the squad dispatch the grunts one at a time.
"Let's get to the door.", commands LeadBeast.
They rush toward it. They are meet by a Firespitter. The squad spreads out ready for an onslaught of machine gun fire.
Instead the Torment slams the door.
The team tries to re-open it. "Shit! The control are locked and it won't budge!", exclaims Luckie.
A moment later, green gas issues into the room from vents. The radioactive agent quickly defeats their masks. The members of the squad choke and cough. Their eyes and skin burning, they collapse on the floor.
As his vision fade, LeadBeast wonders what they could have done differently.
