To the Escape pods
"There is no need to hang around on this ship just to be shot like fish in a barrel."LeadBeast insists.
He leads the way to one if the ship's escape pods hatches.
He turns the latch and the door lifts open.
The squad inspects the cramped quarters of the small pod.
"Yeah, we ain't all getting in that.", observes Jonal.
"No we will need to split up into two groups of two." Ben interjects.
"Churpie, how close can we get to the Torment's base of operations, in these pods?", ask LeadBeast.
The screen in the pod snaps on and displays the geography of the planet below. Add wavy line marks the ship's path over the land. A highlighted area shows the on either side of the line.
"This area is when these pods can reach.", stated Churpie. Several dots appear on screen."the Torment's faulties are clustered here"
"We can land in this low area here and might be able to approach from the back of these mountains. Maybe the Torment won't be able to see us", LeadBeast speculates
"If there are only two pods that eject and land on the surface, won't the Torment just trace us down and kill us?", asked Ben.
"True.", agrees the commander. "Churpie, how many escape pods does this ship have?", he asks.
"Per Spacing Guild regulations, this vessel I equipped with 8 pods.", replies Churpie
"Can you eject all of them and have them land in a random pattern?", LeadBeast inquiries.
"Yes commander." Churpie confirms.
"If we blow all the pods and our two land here,", he pionts to two point on either side of a valley." We can meet up over here, before advancing." LeadBeast explains.
They walk a few meters further down the corridor and find second pod hatch.
"Luckie and Ben, you two take this pod, Jonal and I will take the first", LeadBeast instructs.
"Churpie, program these pods to land and the chosen LZ's", he orders.
"Yes, commander.", responses Churpie.
"Commander,"ask Churpie. " May I access the squad's Tatical Assistance Consoles. I will be able to use their sensors and provide Intel while we are on the planet."
"Please do."LeadBeast replies.
The sqaud puts out their TAC's and confirms Churpie's access.
"While your at it, show us what the air is like on the planet." the commander requests.
An atmospheric report appears on their displays.
"Luckie, you've studied some chemistry." prompts LeadBeast. "What are we looking at?"
Luckie stares at the small screen."low pressure, good oxygen, there is enough methane to make the air smell like Red after eating Pedro's chilli."
"Hahaha, the Torment Homeworld smells like farts.", Jonal jokes.
The sqaud stops and stares at Jonal.
"What?"he asks.
They look back to Luckie.
Luckie continues."Carbon dioxide, trace gases. It's breathable, but the principle gas is argon not nitorgen, so we are going to what to wear masks or run the risk of getting welders lung."
"Understood.", states LeadBeast.
The ship begins the shake and lurch.
"That's our que." The squad split up into the two pods.
