Hang On

"Double time people, let's move!", LeadBeast urges the squad.
They quickly make their way to the acceleration bunker and strap themselves into the seats that line the small room.

"Churpie, what can we expect from the vortex?", ask LeadBeast.

"Uncertain. There is no report of an attempted a temporal displacement with an object as large as a spacecraft", Churpie replies.

"Temporal displacement?", quizzes Luckie. "So, time travel."

"Yes Luckie.", confirms Churpie.

There is a sudden lurching as the ship's hull makes contact with the vortex's event horizon.

Jonal cracks a nervous laugh, "Great, first trip through a time vortex, and we get a student driver"

A vibration starts rattling the deck plates.

"Better not make a wrong turn.", asserts Luckie.

"I don't know.", suggest Ben. "They could drop us off 6 months ago."

"Why 6 months ago?", ask Jonal.

"I could stop myself from asking out your sister.", Ben explains.

Jonal laughs then looks serious,"Yea, she wishes that too."

LeadBeast interjects, "We ALL wish that."

The whole squad burst out with laughter until the growing vibration forces them to grit they teeth.

Without warning the vibration vanishes and everything seems to stop. Even breathing stops with no urge to do so. There is no sound except singluar ringing in the ears.

There is a long stretch of unmeasurable time in which each of the sqaud members has a weird sense of disassociation, almost like an out of body experience.

Then blackness.

Suddenly light and sound are restored to reality.
An alarm reverberates off the the walls which are illuminated the red glow of the backup lighting.
The Shadowguns inhale deeply like swimmer reaching the water's surface.

"That was... trippy", Jonal says slowly.
The team unbuckles their straps and stand.

"Breaks over FunGunz.", LeadBeast announcing.
