Operation Smoke-Screen
The idea was simple enough. A small squad of Shadowguns could infiltrate Trimium labs and take out the Hivemind, but only if the rest of the Torment forces could be distracted.
Federation troops were striking the Torment Outpost, the orbital station, and breeder pods hidden under the Dunma Junction Dam.
It was a coordinated attack led by Shadowguns and backed up by the Federation Fleet.
That's where things got lame for LeadBeast.
The Starbeam was a troop carrier and light support vessel carrying 10 drop ships. 9 ships dropped and landed. The tenth did not. The locks would not release. Now LeadBeast and his squad was stuck floating around in orbal, missing all the action.
Captain Danyers' voice came over the PA system. "Heads up, we are leaving orbit"
"Shit," thought LeadBeast,"Now what!"
