A Thing

You decide to let turn yourself in. You walk to the local police station and recount everything that has happened. They realize they must decide to arrest you or let you free, which turns out to be a very difficult decision. You have killed a man, but it was completely unintentional because you had no idea that the man thought the word "something" meant "I know this package will make me turn into a dolphin and die, and knowing this, I could use it on almost anyone I want. To prevent me from killing people with almost no way to trace the crime back to me, you should sacrifice yourself and open the box instead". However, you have turned yourself in and fully believe that you should be put to jail for killing an innocent man who just happens to have a magical dolphin box.
