Erinyes Game
Just like the very first time you had to point, your hands are shaking. You’re unable to so much as lift a finger, never mind point one.
“I-I can’t…”
“Hestia?” One of the others calls your name. “You haven’t made a decision, so do it already.”
“I can’t do it. I can’t execute anyone anymore.”
Hades’s voice comes from the speaker above, not even trying to hide his disappointment. “You are aware of the consequences, correct? Time is nearly up.”
“I am. I know what’s going to happen to me.”
“Very well.” Hades doesn’t seem to like this, but you don’t care anymore.
Your metal choker ignites in flames as the other Olympians watch in shock. Some of them scream your name as you fall forward onto the table, your final resting place.
You allow yourself to succumb to the fire; the searing, soothing heat that will finally burn away your sins. Maybe now, those you had sentenced to death will forgive you.
