In The Day
This dinner is a close runner-up to the most awkward situation that you've ever been involved in. It was just supposed to be a typical Wednesday at the office. Why couldn't your day have just gone to plan? The two of you eat your meals silently, a few words spoken here and there. When the bills are paid and it's time to go, your almost relieved that you'll have a little break to be by yourself. You feel bad that you didn't agree with everything that your friend had to say, but you didn't want to lie.
Soon enough you are back at your house. You enter through the front doors and shrug off your coat before sitting on the couch. Your hand automatically reached for the remote laying on the coffee table where you had left it last. The room, which was once dark, came to life with the light from the T.V. screen.
