Signs of the Infected

You grab your backpack and fill it with things you think you might need to go out into the world. You grab a flashlight, extra batteries, a Bowie knife, the last chocolate chip granola bar from the pantry, a map of the town of Bemidji, a gas mask. You have to reach under your parents bed to grab the last item, you are careful not to wake your still sleeping mother. Under your parents bed is a box filled with weapons that your father had collected over the years.
