Chance for a Dance | Just a Kiss GxB Paranormal Romance
I tried to scream, but no sound would come out. My voice caught in my throat. It was like one of those nightmares where you can't move--except I was very much awake.
I found hands on my wrists, pulling me back and away from the other dancers. It felt like I was being dragged through a cold fog. I couldn't move, couldn't scream, couldn't do anything to get away.
Then something about the air shifted. I could feel his presence before I knew Chance was there, shoving between my attacker and I.
"The hell do you think you're doing," Chance growled, shielding me behind him against the wall.
He must have broken the connection because the spell broke, the nightmare ended, and I could move again, coughing where I slumped back against the bricks. That's when I realized--the door was only a few feet away. We were nearly outside.
At the sound of the commotion, several other students turned and looked towards us.
My would-be kidnapper let out a cold laugh and said, "I have no interest in causing a scene. Goodbye."
With that, he turned and disappeared into the night.
