Yesterday

You put on your best "I'm dying" voice, and speak to your boss. He sounds both unsympathetic and suspicious, but the deed is now done. Hurrah.

So, you have a full day to play with and maybe more. After all, your wife is not back from London until tomorrow evening. You don't want to waste the day and two options spring to mind.

Firstly, you are a keen swimmer, and it is always a pleasure to go to the local swimming pool, swim many lengths, ogle all the semi-clad beautiful bodies, take a hot shower, and then maybe have a few beers at the bar.

Secondly, you know there are cheap flights at this time of year to the South of France, and you don't live far from the airport. You could probably be there in ninety minutes from now.

So which is it to be?
