Hall of Infinite Doors

Blades and thorns and blood, oh my! Who in their right mind would open a door with sharp knives sticking out of it? You are so pleasantly surprised to see the smooth, crunchy surface of the gingerbread door that you don't even hesitate to open it. Quickly turning the gumdrop handle, you practically jump inside. Enough of that creepy hallway, with its infinity of doors!

Just as you expected, you find yourself in a magical wintry realm. Soft white snow blankets the ground, extending all the way to the little rolling hills on the horizon. The sun is shining brightly and the air smells vaguely of honey and nutmeg. You are standing in the middle of what looks like a residential street lined on both sides with gingerbread houses. Gingerbread houses! The white frosted roofs are dotted with colorful gumdrops and long panels of icing run up and down the sides. Little chocolate chimneys pump fragrant silver smoke into the air. You find yourself licking your lips with glee and anticipation. You sure would like some gingerbread goodies!

You hear some youthful shouts behind you. Turning around, you are almost run over by two little gingerbread kids riding a bicycle made of licorice. They squeal with delight, ringing the bike's silver bell as they pass. Don't be so surprised. Shouldn't these houses be occupied, after all? The Gingerbread People live here!

Just then, the warm, inviting smell of gingerbread begins to waft out of a nearby window. You sure are hungry! Maybe you should go knock on that door and see if the ginger folks inside will let you have a taste. On the other hand, you've been eyeing the garden of a nearby house that seems unoccupied right now. The frosting flowers in this garden are so intricate, so beautiful, it's hard for you to take your eyes off them.

Well, don't just stand out all day in the snow!
