Touhou: Animism of Expansion EX

Near Patchouli's study, Marisa struggled against the binding spell that held her onto the chair, her legs wriggling around in an attempt to free herself. Noticing that Patchouli was approaching, she gave a smile.

"Heh, looks like that new familiar of yours is a pretty talented kid. He caught me on his first try, something you've never been able to do!" Marisa laughed, Patchouli feeling hurt by her words. "Maybe you should let him take over the library? He'd do a far better job than you!"

With a snap of Patchouli's fingers, Marisa's mouth disappeared from her face, leaving the magician to muffle what other jibes she had to say. Making her way back to the Imp, she knelt over and whispered to him "She is right, this is the first time she's even been caught." Patchouli stroked her chin. "Come to think of it, I haven't ever thought of something to do with her. I'll need to get something arranged to teach her a lesson, not to mention keep her out of my hair for a while. Maybe you could think of something?"

Taking in Patchouli's words, the Imp scratched his head. An audible "Hmm" could be heard, which was soon followed by him dashing into one of the many sections of the library. It wasn't long before he returned with a book, bounding over to Patchouli and passing her the book.

Examining the cover, Patchouli saw that the book was called "Hansel and Gretel". "This familiar seems to like Outside World stories." She pondered, opening the book.

Stories from the Outside weren't Patchouli's personal preference for books. They very rarely talked about magic, usually having some kind of fictional magic that is merely for entertainment purposes. While modern technology and ideas could be learnt from Outside literature, it was mostly things that would be very hard for Patchouli to replicate, the only endeavour she ever took involving Outside World technology being the rocket that was made to traverse to the Moon. Even then, it took a lot of teamwork and some help from the Lunarians to even get going. Simply put, Patchouli did not read Outside World books to much.

Flicking through the pages of the book the Imp had given her, she soon came to a conclusion on her familiar's idea.
