Homicide and Havoc on Halloween
"Ugh, Scarlett," you say, "I think I'll pass." "You're no fun," Scarlett complains, "I'll just find someone else to go with." She seems really upset and you know that she has no other friends to go with. You try to make her feel better but she stomps out of the class with a sour look on her face. You begin to gather your materials and you start to regret declining her plea. Once you are done, you thank the teacher and start the long, painful walk home.
You reach your home and your shoulders are aching from lugging your twenty pound backpack along with your lunchbox and gym bag. You enter your house through the front door and groan. "I'm home!" You call out to your mother, who has a worried look on her face. She obviously wants to tell you something. "Honey," she pleads, as predicted, "I'm on call tonight. Do you mind taking Octavia trick-or-treating?" Octavia is your ten year old sister. You have no choice but to accept, and you might as well go with Scarlett since you are going with your sister.
