Worried About a Woman You Saw on the Road

You stopped just up ahead of where she was and, when she reached the car, she got inside. As the car creaked forward, you asked her where she wanted to go. She told you to drop her off up the road and she’d let you know when she needed to get out. Her voice seemed to crack as she spoke and you could tell that it wasn't natural like she’d been crying not long before you picked her up.

You asked her why she was walking along such an isolated road in the dark and her only response was that she’d gotten lost. When you asked if she lived around her, she just said: “Not anymore”. You were pretty certain at this point that she’d had a row with her fella and had stormed out the house. Her responses all seemed very dramatic and she was clearly not in the mood to have a chat.

It was around about this time that you suddenly realized you hadn’t even seen her face. When you’d stopped for her, she’d kind of just plopped herself down in the seat and you’d just driven forward. As you turned your head to look at her, she shouted:

“Don’t look at me! Please don’t look at me!”

This scared the shit out of you, but she must have been really shaken up about whatever had happened that night and you didn’t want to make things worse.
