Outlander

The road is long and quiet. No other bandits had been put in this carriage, so you are left alone to gaze at the uninviting landscape. The plains to the east are bare, showing only miles of grass and the occasional wild herd. Hoofdown, you had heard, was run by the Horsemasters of Hakin and you did not look forward to their form of justice. You were brought by the Raptors to the castle of the main city and you are immediately brought to a dungeon.
It isn't long before you have a visitor to your cell.
"Hello, Outlander," a young woman says to you without preamble. She is attractive, with bronze hair and an ivory smile, but she wears the riding clothes of a man. She stands in a wide stance with her arms crossed. "How would you like a chance to get out of this cell?"
"Can you do that?" you ask, incredulously.
"My father can. He is the Horsemaster."
"Which Horsemaster?"
She laughs uproariously. "The Horsemaster. He is looking for unaffiliated men who can join his army. Men who have no reason to betray him to the other clan leaders."
You think for a moment. "And if I agree, I would also owe my freedom to the Horsemaster."
"Bingo," she replies. "Smart and cute. So, will you fight for us?"
