A Thing

It turns out that Shrek is a really nice guy and he was just trying to scare you off so he could have some alone time. He was sad because Donkey went and killed everyone in the hospital when he heard that he couldn't get a juice box after his flu shot. Shrek was reportedly trying to convince Donkey that he could just get a juice box at the corner store, but Donkey was having none of it. He flew into a fit of rage and brutally murdered everyone in the hospital. After that, Donkey ran off, leaving Shrek to mourn for the dead.
