Adaptability

After your coffee break, your next two classes, Math and French, breeze past you. You get some worksheets assigned to you in class, but you use your time wisely and finish your work before the period ends. When you get home, you dump your backpack on your bedroom floor, and crack open your laptop. Bored, you surf the Internet and browse Facebook, looking for funny videos and pictures to kill time before volleyball practice. You have no responsibilities, no homework, and your friend will be finishing the rest of your History project. Hopefully everything is going smoothly with him...

Your Volleyball Club Presidents' chat pops up on Messenger, with another text from Angie.

"Hey, where were you today? We got our club photo taken after school, and you weren't there??"

Your eyes widen in utter disbelief. This couldn't have happened. You type back, "what???????"

Angie replies, "Ben and I met today at lunch to decide when to get Volleyball Club's photo taken. Since the only open slots for us are today and tomorrow after school, we decided to get our photo shoot done and over with today. We sent out a short notice to everyone on the Volleyball Club Facebook group about it, tho."

"You weren't at the meeting, so I texted you about it?" Ben cuts in.

To your horror, you realize that you must have turned your phone off to concentrate on your classwork. Fingers shaking, you message the group back. "No, no, no, no, nO GUYS! I couldn't have done it, I have volleyball practice today after school!"

"OHHH MY GOSH We are so so sorry about this! We didn't know!"

Frustrated and exasperated, you toss your phone to the other side of the bed and flop back against the headboard of your bed. Great. Looks like you're either going to be photoshopped into the photo, or you're going to have to pose as the one **invisible** president.
