When Worlds Collide

You begin to walk back to the town square, the cascading water from the fountain rushing down to meet the pool at the bottom. Countless coins of all different types gleamed in the water, and you felt a sudden rush of tranquility, peace. That was all broken when a booming sounded, and a sharp ringing noise filled your head. You’re pushed into the water, hitting the shallow bottom hard. Your eyes open wide as the water distorts your vision, but you can understand one thing clearly. Fire, blooming up, the smoke forming what looks like a mushroom as the delayed screams finally fill your ears. Someone, maybe a police officer drags you out of the water, and you choke out water, gasping for a breath. “Ma’am! Ma’am, are you okay?” The police officer checks you over, then motions to someone working at an ambulance. “I’m… I’m fine.” You sputter out water, and try to sit up. Your head swims, and through your unfocused eyes, you can see your bloody body, tattered clothing. “Lay back down ma’am, help is on the way.” The officer commands, and the world goes black.
