Dog's Life.
You watch them as they make their way across the 'Ropes course'. 'Liz' is behind 'Larry', who is going across very slowly. As you watch their expressions change you just realize how high they are climbing. You bark to them and 'Liz' looks at you and waves her arms smiling, while 'Larry' glances at you then focuses back on the 'Ropes course'. After they make their way to the top 'Larry' slips, he slides a few feet then gets back up again and walks to 'Liz'. They then start to come back down. This time 'Larry' goes a little bit faster. Once they are back on the ground you run to them and they kneel down to pet you.
"Now I understand why Pete and Mommy and Daddy do not like to do that." 'Larry' says still shaking slightly.
"For my first time doing the ropes course, I was at a day camp and I was half way up the stairs when my harness and attachment rope got stuck. I was so scared that they had to send an instructor to fix the attachment rope. Once they got it fixed, I was going up and I was scared that my attachment rope would get stuck again so I moved really slow, and three other people kept telling me to hurry up." 'Liz' said giggling.
"Oh. Was the other ropes course harder than this one?" 'Larry' asked.
"Actually, no. It was a beginner course, and this one here," 'Liz' said pointing to the 'ropes course' behind her, "Is I'd say an intermediate. So on your first try ever on a ropes course was on an intermediate level. You're a natural."
"Really?" 'Larry' asked shocked.
"Yes." 'Liz' said with a sigh.
"What?" 'Larry' replied.
"It's just a shame that you are afraid of heights. You could become really good." 'Liz' said smiling.
"I'm not afraid of heights." 'Larry' said.
"Okay then." 'Liz' said.
"Fine, I'll prove it." 'Larry' responded.
"How?" 'Liz' asked twirling a strand of her hair with her finger.
"Um, by doing the ropes course again." 'Larry' said back.
"Deal." 'Liz' replied.
And so they shook hands and they did it again, although this time faster with 'Larry' smiling.
