My name is Polly
Polly woke up to the monotonous drone of her alarm clock and automatically hitting the off button as she got up to take her morning shower. Afterwards it was a quick breakfast, a nod to her mother as she walked towards her High School. There was no thought process to her mornings anymore; everything was already stored into her permanent function system, until she barely saw anything at all. Oh but way back when, before she learned that effort was futile, she would do her best to gain the acknowledgment from her parents that yes, she did exist. Yes she was their daughter, but those dreams are long gone, Polly lived in an emptier world.
(Polly's POV)
I hear the bell ring, and I look up to see the front steps of my high school. There is a brief pause as I stare up onto the ominous building that has brought only bad memories. For a second I consider ditching and then before I can brush the thought aside I surprise myself by seriously contemplating the situation. Especially considering what day it was today my supposed golden day.
