The Babysitter
Sam screamed as the 13 year old's right foot struck the ground inches away from his tiny body. It was just mere chance that stopped him from being crushed. The boy was playfully humming and bouncing around, trying to clean up his room. "He must just think I've gone to the bathroom," Sam thought.
Jacob slowly but surely tidied up his room. The boy fixed the lamp, closed his open window, and started picking up the papers on the ground. Sam realized he was in a dangerous position, being exposed out on the open carpet. He started to run towards a safe space underneath the bookcase.
The giant kid was minding his own business, cleaning, when he saw something that made him jump. He saw what looked like a tiny ant crawling across his floor. It was the end of the summer, and Jacob had seen his fair share of critters crawling around the house. He didn't even think twice. He knew how to deal with ants.
Sam turned and saw the giant boy staring at him with a disheartened frown. Sam jumped for joy and yelled, "Jacob! Hey!" But his head was way up in the sky from Sam's position. He probably only heard a tiny squeak.
Jacob walked to stand directly above the tiny bug on the ground. Sam looked up to see a once adorable middle schooler transformed into a monolithic giant above him. He could do nothing but watch in horror as the giant raised one foot.
"Hey! WAIT! I'M NOT A BUG!"
Sam's cries fell to deaf ears. The tiny defenseless teen saw the tan, train-sized foot fly high above him. With sudden and great vigor, the boy brought his sweaty and soft foot down on the tiny teen.
He crushed the bug, smirking as he felt the satisfying CRUNCH.
Jacob wriggled his toes before lifting his foot up. He sat down to look at the bottom of his foot. The tiny ant had stuck to the bottom of his bare foot. With a fingernail, he peeled the mangled remains of the bug off of his heel, flicking the dead insect into the trash.
He never could find where Sam went. He sure wouldn't have suspected that the tiny ant was in fact his shrunken babysitter. The boy never knew about his unintentional murder.
