Solipsism

Creating the hero wasn't hard at all. It was easy to take the average male body, and tweak it until it was both excessively muscular and excessively handsome. Coming up with a world that suited him was a bit more complicated, but after giving it some thought, I decided that a world which had not developed far past the iron age would be the most suitable.

"Figures you'd make him look like every other muscle-bound oaf you've ever created," said the other voice. "You really don't have much creativity, do you?"

"I... shut up!" I said. "I don't see you coming up with anything better."

"What's his name?"

I paused. I hadn't really thought about it. "Oh, yeah. Ummm... his name is... it's, ahh, his name is Muscleus."

"You cannot be serious," said the other voice. "Did you serious just slap a random suffix onto his most prominent feature? Let alone the fact that his name sounds like some sort of gross bodily discharge."

"Shut up!" I repeated. "He's a great hero. He grew up in a mountain village, in a community that relies on trading livestock products with the nearby major city." I started crafting the world as I spoke, creating mountains and valleys with the mere weight of my words. "He didn't ask to be a hero, but from a young age he knew he was destined to be different."

"I suppose his first major quest is to defeat that enemy invader over there?" asked the other voice.

"What other army?" Sure enough, the capital city I had created was now under siege by a foreign army. "Why do you ruin everything?" I asked.

"I didn't do this," said the other voice. "If Muscleus is going to be a hero, he'd better act fast. His village won't survive the winter without crops from that city."

He was right, of course.
