The Star of Egypt

"Can you tell me more about your work with Pavel when you were partners?"

"Oh, of course!" Arthur smiles. "Pavel and I were archaeologists. We travelled all over the world, from Egypt to England to Japan. We went on a variety of different expeditions.

"Our last and greatest expedition was in a newly discovered pyramid in ancient Egypt. Everyone told us not to go; they warned us that we'd die out there and, if we didn't, we'd walk away without a single penny to our names.

"But, boy, did we prove them wrong when we returned! We'd uncovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in relics and other ancient memorabilia."

"What happened to it?" you ask. "I've never seen any ancient relics in Pavel's room or anywhere else in the house."

"Pavel, being ever the noble one, donated it almost all of it to museums and the like." Your eyes widen as Arthur's voice fills with venom. "We split what was leftover between the two of us, but he kept the best pieces for himself, the selfish-"

Arthur stops abruptly when he makes eye contact with you.

"Sorry, dear." He smiles. "I'm sure you don't want to hear the ramblings of an old man like me." He laughs at his own joke.

Ramblings of an old man, huh?
