The Tale of Abigail
Shivering, Abigail stands up and forces herself to walk down the old wooden stairs. She brushes a strand of brown hair from her face, reassuring herself that nothing is wrong. That everything is right.
Abigail stops in front of the big wooden door, and pushes it open, heading out into the night, slowly walking toward the Woods.
If she keeps on the path, she'll arrive at Sophie's place in no time, she tells herself. Taking a huge breath, she steps foot onto the dirt road, and hurries into the ominous forest.
As she walks, Abigail wonders who was on the other end of the telephone. She's so engrossed in her thoughts that she doesn't notice a looming branch in front of her until she hits it with her forehead, hard.
The world turns fuzzy and Abigail stumbles to the side of the path, diving off a steep hill! She rolls down it, her face scratched by the various sharp objects that people have thrown over the years, and arrives at the foot of the hill, a bloody mess.
She stands up shakily, and notices the sound of rushing water... it's the Deadville Waterfalls- where a family disappeared last month. She scans the area, looking for a way out of here, and her gaze lands on a small house.
Maybe there's someone there? Abigail thinks to herself. She needs medical attention now- already, she can feel the blood, her energy, leaking out of her. Stumbling, she makes her way across the field, and knocks uneasily on the door of the house.
The door opens with a creak, and an old woman appears, a delighted expression on her face, before it quickly rearranges to one of worry. "Poor girl," the old woman says soothingly, "won't you come in?"
Abigail hesitates-
