Frontier Man
You slowly walk over to the two soldiers sitting on the bench.
"Howdy, I'm Colt Fargo. How are y'all today?" You say as you offer your hand for a handshake.
"Good day, sir. I'm doing well sir." said the soldier on the right quickly, he ignored your handshake. The other soldier kept quiet.
Sensing an awkward moment you quickly start up conversation again. "Good, what are y'all doing here?"
"We, sir, are waiting for orders. We were summoned here for a briefing with General Maxwell, sir."
You are a bit annoyed by being referred to sir in each time he talks, but you continue the conversation anyway.
"I was just riding through and thought I'd stop by..." you are interrupted when the two soldiers quickly stand up at attention.
"Boy, what are you doing here?" You quickly turn around and realize your face is about two inches away from another man's chest. You raise your gaze to see a scowling face staring down at you.
"I...I was just ri...riding through sir. I don't mean any harm." you reply clearly terrified.
"Are you here to sign up for the United States Army boy?"
When you left your home this morning, you did not have the intention of signing up for the United States Army, you really didn't have much of a plan except for riding until you found something to do. What's your answer?
