Warhammer Rise and Fall: Vampire Count

Your blade materializes into reality once more and the minute in solidifies you spring into a fighting stance. Your willingness to fight seems to unnerve one of the knights. The other, however, is less than impressed.

“Impetuous rogue,” he says. He spits in front of you, simultaneously drawing an ornate broadsword. His accomplice raises his hand and attempts to reason with your attacker.

“Wait, we don’t know if-“

Unfortunately he fails to listen and charges his mount towards you. Though you’re tempted to smile, you refuse to allow a bestial side to relish in killing. In a swift motion you lunge at the charging steed, smashing the side of the creature with an open palm and sending it tumbling to the ground, rider and all. The knight curses under his breath, his heavy armor trapped underneath the bulk of his mount.

“Johan, get me out of her-”

Before he has a chance to speak, you land on his armor, pinning him to the ground and causing him to gasp for air. His eyes are bloodshot and his arms are outstretched. He opens his mouth to scream but you cut him off, driving your blade into his face.

You pull your blade out of its grisly pedestal and clean it on the grass. You look up and glare at the dumbstruck knight gaping at you. You point your sword at him.

“Unless you want to end up like friend, I suggest you run away.”

There is a moment of silence before the knight starts shaking. “You killed my brother! You bastard! I will hunt you down until the end of time, vampire! I will-”

His words are caught off. A single bloody gurgle escapes his mouth as he grabs hold of the serrated sword jutting through his chest. You stare placidly as he falls off his horse. If you’ve remembered anything about being a warrior, it’s that carrying a grudge can make you immortal; the fires of revenge fanning your will to live, to grow stronger.

And honestly, you don’t have the time to deal with that kind of dilemma.
