Epic story of survival

I ran back into my house and locked it up. I knew I wouldn't have much time before they would break a window or bust a door and come after me. I had to do something quick. I had to hide. I ran upstairs, climbed into the attic and hid in a box that i had stored up there. And it wasn't a moment too soon. The moment I got settled in the box, I heard a loud crash and I knew they had chosen to come in via the window. I heard them stepping around looking for me for 10 minutes when i heard one say to the other "Check upstairs." I heard them come up in to the attic. I knew I had to do something.
