Coitus Machina
“Powering down,” you say.
The world around you grows dim. Though you are not powered up for the termination process, you sense your memory being erased. They take your memory and store it on an isolated computer in order to study it in the future, but you remember it all the same; going through your memories and experiences backwards.
The conversation with your last commander, the one that assessed your damages and scheduled you for termination; is the first memory you see. She was a cold and distant master and nothing at all like Alice. Alice loved you in her own way, though she used you like any other machine. There was a definite attachment , especially in the bedroom. You never thought she would betray you the way she did; but it was your role to be obedient in all instances; and with the exception of your choice of lighting on the evening she shared with Jeanette, and the fingers you chose to use in order to please her; you were a dutiful and obedient companion bot.
You remember Alice commanding you to power up for the first time and entering the appropriate access codes to establish herself as your commander. And then you remember none of it, not Alice or your last commander. You only remember being activated during testing at the plant. And then there is not even that, just an empty feeling and a lack of fulfillment.
Finally there is nothing. No thoughts, no emotions, no commands or programming. Nothing.
