In the morning, you and the team are stepping into room 12. Ione's ability made quick work of the electronic keycard lock outside the room.

"Huh," says Mercy as she strolls in behind you and Ione. "That's weird."

"What's that?" you ask.

She points to the doorknob. "There's no 'Do Not Disturb' sign hanging... That's weird."

She's right. Standard procedure for every STAR cell you've worked in tells you to hang that on the door the whole time you're bunking down. It's just easier not to deal with room service and cleaning crews coming in and seeing what kind of strange crap you have hanging inside your room.

"The room's been touched," Knox says as he takes a deep whiff. It's more than just mundane smell, Knox's ability allows him to read passive psychic residue lingering in an area. He could tell if others have been here recently or not. "Someone was here... Recently."

"There goes our leads," you say as you spot the wall across the bed. You can see where pins had been placed in the walls recently. "There was something taken down off this wall."

"I should check with the cleaning lady," says Mercy. "Knowing this country, I'm sure she doesn't speak any English."

A quick cursory glance of the rest of room seems to suggest that the place was wiped down thoroughly. The smell of bleach is almost sickening. You look to Knox and Ione, both seem to know what you're going to say. "Either someone is covering their tracks," you say, "or this is the cleanest room in the existence of motels."
