Sentinel
Pain shoots through your torso as you try to sit up. You feel hands holding you back toward the pillow. You open your eyes to find yourself in a modestly furnished room.
There is a man sitting in the corner dressed in leather armor armed with two curved blades. He is watching you as the young woman beside you nurses your wound.
"Who are you?" You ask eyeing him.
"My name is Roderick. I know who you are." He says in a raspy tone. "You're the Sentinel."
"How do you know that?" You ask incredulously.
"Because I know why you're here." He says. "Not to mention it was hard to miss the crest on the sword you were swinging around." He allows himself a toothy grin.
"The man tried to kill me." You reply.
"He almost succeeded." He says gesturing to your side.
"I'll be fine." You say sitting up slowly.
"Please, take your rest. You'll need it. Tomorrow I'll be taking you into The Mist."
