Hall of Infinite Doors

There are answers you need.

Who are you? Where are you? Where did you come from? And in order to find those answers, you first need to find other people, so as useful as your shelter was last night, you can't hang around it forever.

As soon as there's enough light to see by you pick up your things and get moving, at first merely heading in the direction where the thick undergrowth offers the least resistance. Eventually though, you come to a place where the ground starts to slope downwards. You're terribly thirsty, and have long since finished off the last dregs in your water jug, but if there's more around, logically it's somewhere downhill, right?

The plants are thicker in that direction and it's tricky going for a bit, but your machete helps, and soon enough you hear the blessed sound of a flowing water. Success!

Scrambling the rest of the way down, you drink your fill and then top off the jug for later. Resting a moment beneath a tree by the cool water, you consider your options.

The water...you would hardly call it a proper river, but at the same time it's wide enough, and deep enough, that crossing it might present some difficulty. Perhaps it would be better to just walk along the bank for a bit, and keep an eye out for signs of life? A loud growl from your stomach reminds you of another, increasingly pressing problem. You're starving!

What to do, what to do?
