Diamonds Are Expensive

The guards swing you back and throw you onto the truck. You skid along the cool, metal floor and crash into one of the crates. There is some more shuffling around outside, then one of the guards comes over and shuts the big metal door. You are plunged into darkness.
Oops.
You didn't think that would happen.
Oh well. You can still find out what is in the crate, providing that you still have your watch on.
You check your wrist. Yep, it's still there.
You aim your watch at the top of the crate and press the button.
Then...
Nothing.
You shake your watch, puzzled. There should be a bright red very powerful lazer coming out of your watch. But there's nothing.
Then you remember something.
Your laser button was moved because you kept mistaking it for the light button to see the watch in the dark. That had been a total disaster. You managed to blow up your computer, smash a car windscreen, make a hole in your mothers knickers that were hanging on the washing line, and nearly shoot your boss. That was when P, your gadget man, swapped the buttons.
You need to see what's in the crate now. You aim your watch at the top of the crate and fire the laser. You make a neat circle in the top of the crate with the power of the laser. When you let go, the circle of wood falls down and hits the bottom of the crate with a loud THUD!
There can't be a hell of a lot in the crate.
You look into the crate. You can't see anything. Mainly because it's pitch black. You hold your watch over the hole in the crate and press the torch button. A bright beam of light shoots out the side of your watch.
Inside, there is a small sheet of notepad paper. You pick it up and hold the light beam up to it.
It reads: I.O.U. Lots of diamonds.
Well you know what used to be there.
You try another crate. You make a neat triangle this time (circles get boring after a while) and look into the crate, holding the torch just above your head.
There is thousands of diamonds, sitting there in the crate. You pick up a handful. They must be a hell of a lot of money, just in that handful.
You feel the truck stopping. What do you do?
