"I…no," muttered Blaine, looking away awkwardly. "I mean, look guys. I appreciate the offer and all, I really do. But this is just too weird. I barely know you guys- and since you're apparently supernatural beings, I really don't know you at all. I'm powerless, and I'm clueless. I'd just hold you guys back anyway. I just… I dunno, my heart's just not in this."

"No, it's okay," said Sonja, crestfallen. "I understand. Being a warrior isn't for everybody. I'm not too worried. I know that our secret is safe in your hands."

"And no one would believe you anyway," added Cassidy. "I guess this is goodbye, then. That's a shame. I always thought you were kind of cute."

With that, Cassidy leaned in and gave Blaine a short kiss on the lips. Blaine's mind came to a screeching halt as his body raced with excitement and hormones. Taking his pause as an invitation, Cassidy went in for a longer kiss. Blaine sat there in shock with his mouth open, before his body kicked in with base instincts he'd never knew he had. By the time his brain had caught up, the kiss was already over; Cassidy had softly pulled at his lower lip as she leaned away.

"Maybe I'll see you again when this is all over," she said, waving over her shoulder as Sonja and she left the building.

"Yeah, I'll see you," parroted Blaine, still wrapped in a daze of confused happiness.
