Mystic Elevator

For the exercise -or- So many steps

You stay on course. Whose to say there won't be a wait for the elevator?
Yanking the heavy door open, you head for the stairs, taking the steps like a boulder down an avalanche. Your feet are so rapid that they begin to blur.

After clearing the first floor and a half of the descent, the door above you opens. You hear two heavy steps and then leap, a landing, and then two more and a leap. When you are two and a half floors down, just half a level from potential safety, you hear a thud from the wall just a bit above you.

Michael bounces agilely from the wall to land before you on the next landing. He smiles at you evilly, his teeth sharp filed points. You wonder absently when this sharpened teeth fad came in, and how you missed it. Michael lunges at you like a bullet from the barrel, his hands lifting you from the ground and slamming you into the wall.

He holds you up against the well with incredible strength and slips a long forked tongue out. You kick him with all the strength you can muster, and though he almost falters for a brief moment, he maintains his hold on you. He slams you against the wall again, this time harder. Something cracks and you're not sure if it's your back or the wall.

Carnivorous teeth bared, he smiles at you. "Don't come back this time," he says to you, tilting his head sideways and biting a chunk out of your neck. You stand there in shock, unable to feel anything but pain and terror. A fleshy mess of blood drops from Michael's mouth, the sticky red spilling a bit from his lips.

You start to black out when he snaps in a second time.
