Excavation II: Lost in New York

"Well, since I'm 70 years in the future, the only person that I know that could possibly still be alive is Daniel," Lois thought anxiously to herself. Daniel, Lois' older brother by a mere one and a half years, would now be 95 and a half years old- an unlikely age for him to still be alive and well. Lois walked back into Vinny's Pizzeria and asked the same employee where the nearest phone booth was. "It's right around the corner," he replied. "Take a right, walk two blocks up and it's on the corner of Bedford and 11th." "Thank you," she responded, and hurriedly walked outside.

After about a 10 minute brisk walk, Lois arrived at what she assumed to be a phone booth. Instead of the now outdated transparent cubicles, Lois stood in awe of an orange, pod-shaped fixture just high ehough for her to hunch over into. The phone looked surprisingly similar to the phones she was used to, but the keypad was much different. Instead of a phone book dangling on a chain attached to the pod, a large screen lit up in front of her. A woman's automated voice asked what city and state she was looking for. "Manhattan, New York," she responded. The screen then prompted her with a list of all of Manhattan's residents. She scrolled down to the letter D for Drennan: Daniel and Olivia Drennan, 4435 Madison Avenue, Apartment # 54B, New York, NY 10001, (212)-755-4345.

Lois immediately dialed, rather touched, the number on the screen. After almost ten rings, a woman answered the phone.

"Hello?" the voice answered.
"Olivia?", Lois asked.
"Yes, this is she. Who am I speaking with?"
"Oh my God, Olivia! I'm so glad to hear your voice! It's Lois! How are you?" she inquired, almost completely out of breath.
"Lois? Lois who?" Olivia responded.
"It's me, Daniel's sister. Listen, I've had an incredible accident. I really need to speak with Daniel. Could you please put him on the phone?"
"But I thought you were in South Africa with the kids this weekend and weren't going to be able to communicate with us?" asked Olivia.
"Please, just let me speak with Daniel," Lois pleaded, despite having no idea what Olivia meant by being away and with no cell phone reception.

"Hello?" a raspy voice sounded on the opposite end of the line.
"It's me Daniel. Lois." she said.
"But, I thought you were in Africa for the week?"
"We can speak about that later. It's not important. What is important is that I need to see you in person, right away. I've had a terrible accident."
"Come right over," Daniel said, "should I send over a car? Where are you anyway?" her brother asked.
