Horoscopic

I'm not sure what just happened. I told Miranda she looked nice. She looked at me long and hard, then quietly thanked me and said I looked nice too. She was super polite and kind of cool.

What did I SAY? Can't a person pay a compliment? Lordy, does she think I was making fun of her? I guess I've always kind of ignored her or been condescending. I caught her off guard.

I feel ashamed. How can I do something nice for Miranda without seeming like I'm mocking her? I guess I could apologize for always being distant to her...she'd have to see I was sincere. Or I could not do anything. If Miranda thinks I don't like her, then I'm not sure I can change her mind...

What should I do?
