Cryo is the slang term for cryogenic storage, or, the process of storing a human by freezing their body. The advantages of this process are that a body can last as long as the cryo-system holds out with no nutrition, hydration, or other outside resources for it to utilize. And, it doesn't age.

However, there is a possibility that some advanced method, that does not actually use a full body freezing can allow the mind to remain active, during the journey.
