Interdimensional Traveler

You find yourself at a river bed near a waterfall. You walk downstream for a couple of miles and see no signs of civilization. Then you hear what sound like human voices, but they are grunts and simple speech. You wonder if you have stumbled upon a world that is still in the Stone Age.
