Inside the Garden

Lisa looked beautiful in the golden light of summer sun. Her tanned skin glowed with vitality and her tawny hair fell in waves down her back.

She laughed with happiness when you asked her to marry you and you spent the day in the park. In love and at peace.

It was the best afternoon of your life. She was the best thing in your life.

Until she left you.

Your sleeping face crumples with pain as you relive that awful day. Tears coated her face but she wouldn't stay. You remember the rage, the feeling of powerlessness. You remember hating her.

You wake up with a start.

After a moment, you become aware of your surroundings. You are lying trussed up in a prison cell of some kind. Dirty straw litters the floor and the stench is overwhelming.

Your wrists and ankles are rubbed raw from the heavy ropes and your mouth feels full of dust.

Blood has run down from your wrists into the ropes, making them slippery and you manage to slip your hands out of their bonds. Quickly freeing your legs you look around the room.

There is a heavy door with weak looking hinges and a thin window high up in the wall.

You can either try to force open the door or attempt to squeeze through the narrow window.
