"Nah, I know you. You'll use that as an excuse to pay me significantly less, not to mention I can imagine what kind of condition you fuckers left her in. No thanks, let's just get on with it."
"Always a professional aren't you Adam? I guess that's why I feel like I can rely on ya. Alright then, it's pretty simple, you're riding on the top of this van you've been checking out while I've been talking. Nice isn't it? Took a long time to scrounge around for parts for the thing and to get it running, but it'll come in really handy for future slaving jobs and this delivery mission especially."
"I've never been up towards where the Circle is located, but I heard about some fucked up cult claiming territory around there." You interject.
"Yeah, which is another reason why I want you on that makeshift turret we built on top of this van. Cultist types have a habit of being utterly relentless and there being a shitload of them. Along with you, I'm going to have some of my boys escort us with their motorcycles, but if it gets really heavy they're probably either going to get killed or try to drive off and leave my ass. So as you can see I'm glad you came along when you did."
"So if I'm on top of the van in that little bunker thing you guys put together, you got someone riding shotgun?"
"Yeah, my second is doing that. Alright then, I know you got your own weapons, but here's another rifle with some more ammo, since I know YOU and you'd demand more money for your personal ammo costs. Let's get going."
You take the weapon and climb up to the roof of the van. Dom and his men surprisingly did a good job with protection of here, the reinforced metal ring they built should provide adequate protection provided someone firing on you isn't a sniper or has a rocket launcher.
Eventually Dom, you and the rest are on your way. For a long time nothing happens, you're just riding around watching the landscape. Eventually though you start seeing figures in the red robes in the distance running around motioning to your oncoming convoy.
"Hey Dom better get fucking prepared!" you shout.
Soon several robed individual peering out from behind rocks and various wreckage, firing upon you. You return fire, but it seems like you're the only one hiting any of them since Dom's men are proving to be utterly incompetent in the marksmanship department. You briefly wonder how the fuck they capture anyone before concentrating on the next 's cultist.
Aside from a couple of the escorts getting shot off their cycles all is going well at first, since the cultist don't seem to have anything larger than pistols and that's when several small metal ball object fly through the air and make explosions near the front and sides of the van.
"Shit! Dom get us out of this fucking area NOW!"
The cultist for the most part aren't taking chances and they're hurling the grenades blindly from behind their rocks, but when one does pop up to take better aim you dispatch him immediately. While this kills your target it has the added bonus of killing several others since he dropped a live grenade causing a nice bloody fountain of guts and limbs to fly up in the air.
You see a high rock cliff looming up ahead and know that this can't be good when you see a couple of cultists loading up something and firingÂ…
A rocket misses the van, but comes close enough to make the van rock and you lose another cycle escort to the explosion. Taking a careful shot on rough terrain on top of a vehicle isn't easy, but you manage to get the cultist with the launcher in the chest.
More cultists appear ahead, but this time at ground level setting up spikes on the road.
"What the fuck Dom, I can't do all this shit myself! Tell your second to waste the fuckers up ahead!" you shout firing upon another one.
Dom does his best in trying to avoid the spikes, but not completely. All of the van's tires are blown and he's swerving all over the place nearly tipping the vehicle over a few times and if he did it would most likely kill you.
In fact it might be safer to jump off this fucker. The van is slow enough that you could do it without hurting yourself excessively now, but of course that brings up a whole new set of possible problems.
