Feeling hungry after that last scuffle, Shadow decided on getting something to eat.
He found a nearby restaurant and sat at it's bar, staring at his reflection. The bartender asked him what was up, but Shadow only replied by ordering a drink and a sandwich.
As he wallowed in his thoughts, one in particular drifted back and forth. He hadn't heard from Rouge in a while, and she hadn't bothered to worry about him, it seemed. Sure she acted offended by his overprotective behavior, but deep down, he knew she appreciated it.
Shadow reached into the small holster around his ankle and pulled out his cell phone. He had gotten one to keep in touch with Rouge, but realized how much he never did call her. Always thinking she was busy on an assignment or something else entirely.
The sound of a plate hitting the bar made Shadow glance up to see his food, and he stared back at his phone.
