The Bleeding Room
Black clouds enshrouded the house as Dameon stepped onto the front porch. A flash of lightning struck the ground near him, causing him to jump in panic. The house had been the source of the gossip in the small town of Edeni. Some of the rumors were the usual, rumors like "It's haunted" or "It's possessed." However, some were more unusual, like the rumor of a world connected to Earth by the house. One of Dameon's friends started a challenge to find out about these rumors. The objective was to navigate throughout the entire building at night, and in every room, spill a drop of your own blood. Dameon was the kind of person that loved adventure, especially thrilling ones, so naturally, he was the only one to agree. However, as he now looked up at the massive house, he began to worry. What would happen if he was trapped there? He immediately chastised himself. It was a silly rumor, idiotic in its own terms. But however much he tried, he could not shake the feeling that the house contained an evil far greater than anyone could ever imagine. Mentally slapping himself, he walked onto the front porch and opened the door slowly. The door screamed as it was pushed on its creaky hinges. He stepped inside and looked around. The building was magnificent, yet dreary. The house was definitely the best in its time. However, no one had ever lived in the house. Nobody ever saw a bird roost on its roof or rats around the burnt forest around it. There were no insects in the rotting wood or deer that traveled near it. The house was completely devoid of life...until Dameon walked in. Dameon took a few steps further, taking in the sights. Suddenly, the front door slammed shut, making Dameon scream. He ran to the door, horrified, and pulled on the knob, but it would not budge. "NO!" he screamed. "Let me out! Please!"
The house almost seemed to laugh in reply. Hesitantly, he removed his hand from the door and turned around. The house was creepy, that was without a doubt. However, he strangely felt safe here, other than the biting fear of the evil that might live inside. He walked away from the door, gazing at a lamp that sat on a table in the far corner. He slowly lumbered towards it, entranced by its beauty. When he was only a few steps away, however, a face appeared in the reflection of the moonlight. A horrible, twisted face. The face appeared to be screaming, but Dameon heard no sounds. Blood was splattered across its face, and there was a definite gash in his head. However, Dameon could not turn away. The face soon grew more and more disgusting, with new gashes and deformities spreading throughout. Dameon didn't realize it, but the house was testing him for the things to come. It wanted to know if he was the one. The only one that would ever be able to survive the challenges that lay ahead. It noticed how he did not, maybe could not turn away from the horrible figure the house placed in the lamp. He might be the one, the house thought. He might survive the Bleeding Room.
