The Island of Destiny
You take a deep breath and take hold of the old wooden ends of the ladder. You notice how damp and rotted the wood feels and you pray that this ladder will hold. It wobbles as you start your descent and your heart leaps in your chest as a faint wind rustles the trees.
Slowly and carefully you edge your way down. The creak of the ladder on each new rung becomes like a melody in your head as your descent continues. Finally, instead of a creak your feet hit the soft dirt of the bottom. Letting out your breath, you release your tight grip on the edges of the ladder.
You then turn around to find yourself faced with a pitch black tunnel. Damn, you wish you had a light of some sort with you. Little by little, you creep your way into the tunnel. You hear a raspy breath in the darkness and then suddenly a hairy beast jumps out in front of you.
This creature stands about fifteen feet, covered in shaggy hear with it's drooling head haunched over, and fiddling with its razor sharp claw. You scream. It takes the opportunity to pierce your abdomen and drag you into the depths of its lair to join its family for dinner.
