IWT5- The Sneeze
"Well, I'm sorry...umm, Jacob," said Anna, pulling herself out from underneath Jaik'nob's arm, "But I should, uhh...I should really be going."
"But you just got here!" said Jaik'nob. "Why are you leaving so soon?"
"Oh, well..." said Anna, staring at the ground. "I...well, see, I should really be...uhh, doing my homework! Yes, and since, and since Rod isn't here, I...well, I should really, umm, well, I've got to get going. I'll see you later!" she stuttered as she ran between the pumps and the car wash.
To her relief, she found Rod waiting for her, idling on the side street behind the gas station. She ran over, opened the door, and flung herself into the passenger's seat. Rod floored it, and the two drove away, Anna barely closing the door in time to avoid hitting the curb. Jaik'nob followed them into the street, but he was far too late. The only thing Rod could see in the rearview mirror were a pair of blood red eyes- the rest of his body had no reflection.
"I knew you wouldn't leave me," she said, catching her breath.
