The Metal Princess
Sara awoke, in a daze, the bleeping of her heart monitor the only clue as to where she was.
"Daddy?" she asked groggily, slurring her words as the anaesthesia hadn't quite lifted.
"Hello, pumpkin."
"Oh, Daddy, what on Earth happened?"
"We don't know. You and Smith were driving in a golf cart, but apparently you went into an out-of-bounds area and skidded out of control." Archibald stared at his daughter through fond eyes, "You're safe now."
"My arm feels wierd." Sara said to her father.
"Don't look at it," Archie told his daughter sharply.
Sara looked at him, shocked. Her father had never been so abrupt in his entire life...why couldn't she look at her arm?
"Dad. What's going on?"
"Sara. Darling." Archibald took Sara's hand, "Your body was badly damaged in the accident."
"So why can't I look at my arm?"
"Darling." Archibald said firmly. "Your arms, legs and the left side of your face have all been replaced by bionics."
"What?" Sara replied, alert.
"They're going to run some tests but you should be fine..."
