Super...fluous
You slink slowly, sleathily toward the door, as if the Elder-voice hasn't already trained its perception on your essence. Marvelling at the runes beneath your feet, you can't help but notice how many contain arrows of some sort. As you are crossing the large center emblem of a stately elf, arrow notched and drawn in his longbow, your blood runs cold as you see that the tip of the arrow is a sharpened fleur-de-lis, the ancient symbol of Tirran royalty long since dead... but thought to roam among your clan (with their terrible mystic powers) even to this day.
A snap shatters the silence, and a sharp blue light from above pierces through your chest! You feel yourself being drawn into the air above the seal... there is pressure on your body, but you do not react painfully, as you would've guessed.
"Be not so disrespectful, Arren!" the voice, now much louder booms.
"I... I'm sorry... I didn't know!" you stutter.
"That is the very reason you are not dead now, son of Tirras."
"Yes, sir... should I come down so that I may pass through the doors now?" you offer.
"NO!!! You must never pass through those doors, Arren, for that would be the death of you and everyone you hold dear!"
You swallow hard at this, unable to utter a proper response. You decide to just wait and listen to what the Elder-voice has to say...
"This cavern was carved by your grandfather, great ten times over." You shudder. The Elder-voice has just said that you are a direct descendant of Gelden the Ranger! You shake your head in disbelief.
"Silence the doubting voice within you, child! It is so! All this that was, and is, and is yet to come is at your feet now. Infinite power may be yours... all that remains is for you to master it."
You can't help feeling incredulous. "Why would my father never tell me of this place? Why was the Roottree Golem able to kill him? I saw it with my own two..."
"Silence, or I may snatch those ethereal orbs from your head, child!" You decide further comment might be detrimental to your health. "Each generation must find this alcove over time during the span of his own lifetime. You all are naturally drawn to it, but some never find it. Such was the case with your own father, sadly."
Hatred runs anew through your veins, as you realize the Golem must have wiped out your entire family by now... your father, your mother, even your younger twin brothers.
"I need you to think clearly now, Arren. Clear your mind of all thought... this may sting just a tad..." A white ball of light hurtles down the blue ray that holds you aloft and engulfs your body, seeming to light you on fire in an inferno like nothing you've ever experienced before! You scream out in pain, and convulse uncontrollably even as power beyond all reckoning begins to pulse through your body.
A few seconds later, the blue light is gone, and you lie in a crumpled heap on what you now know to be your family seal. "You must leave by the door there to your left... quickly! Danger is at hand!"
Groggily, you mutter, "What door...?" Shockingly, there is a door in the cavern wall where once there was none.
"You now have the sight, young Arren. You will begin to see these doors all over Tirras. There will never be anything to fear from them. Now, GO... and take your new power of FlameArrow with you!"
