Can it be that it was all so simple then?

You sit on the stoop amidst the shower of flaming crap that is your luck as of late turning that pink cell phone over in your hand.

All it took was this little bugger to bring it all down. You smirk despite yourself.

Here you are, supposedly one of the slickest men alive brought down by a pretty pink cell phone with glitter stars and a Hello Kitty sticker. The same man that once convinced a police woman that caught you in a stolen BMW to let you go with the promise you'd pick her up for a ride after her shift, the same man that once made $11,000 out of $20 in Reno while drunk at a bachelor party, the same man that has gotten himself into and out of more scrapes by the age of 25 than most squares see in a lifetime, brought down by a pretty smile and pretty pink cell phone.

Just at that moment your Ex looks out the window and catches you admiring the token of your indiscretion.

"YOU BETTER NOT EVEN CONSIDER CALLING THAT BITCH AFTER ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED!! IF YOU EVER WANT A CHANCE WITH ME AGAIN YOU WILL THROW THAT CELL PHONE AWAY RIGHT NOW, COME UP HERE AND BEG ME TO FORGIVE YOU."

You stare up at the third floor and the blue sky beyond. In the window, the face of the woman love. The woman that took you in when you were face down in the gutter, cleaned you off and bankrolled your comeback. The woman that would give her heart and soul to you if only you would promise not to break it anymore...and beyond her tearful gaze, the wide open blue sky rolling on forever into an uncertain eternity.

You survey the carnage on the street around you. You cant stand out here for too long. Someone's bound to have called the cops by now and there are enough misdemeanors on your record to ensure a couple of days in holding before the judge cuts you loose.

You...
